Boise State Broncos vs. Texas State Bobcats at ExtraMile Arena

A drive toward the basket can change the play before the player takes a shot. Watch who moves in to help defend and which teammate suddenly has space. If a pass comes out, you'll have seen the opening before the ball got there. That split second makes a possession worth watching from the start. It also gives you something specific to talk about with somebody who only caught the last part of the play. Boise State Broncos host Texas State Bobcats at ExtraMile Arena in Boise on February 20.

At a live basketball game in Boise, you can track the action beyond the shot itself. Watch a defender shade toward one side, then see how space opens for a teammate, or follow the view of both benches as the game keeps moving and reacting around them.

That is part of the pleasure of being there in person. You get the shared rhythm of a home-game outing, the quick bursts of movement, and the chance to notice small plays that disappear on a screen but stand out from the seats.

Some possessions are worth remembering because of the way a chance came together. Watch a teammate step into the space that has just opened, and see whether the defense has time to take it away again.
