About Morrison Center

The Morrison Center for the Performing Arts sits on the Boise State University campus beside the Boise River. Its Main Hall hosts touring Broadway musicals, ballet, orchestral programs, concerts and stand-up. The same building also contains the Danny Peterson Theatre, which has a separate entrance and visitor instructions. Read the room name on your ticket before you set out, particularly when both spaces are in use.

Plan Your Visit to Morrison Center

Where is the Main Hall entrance?

Use the double glass doors on Friendship Lane for Main Hall performances. The doors face the river side of the building, on the opposite side from the primary parking area. The venue directs pedestrians to the sidewalk west of Earle Street from Brady Garage. The academic entrance serves the university side of the building and is not the Main Hall entrance.

Where should I park?

Main Hall admission includes event parking in the West Reserve lot and Brady Garage. The venue also identifies Capitol Village and Health Sciences Riverside as alternatives. Follow parking attendants and the directions for your performance. A courtesy shuttle circulates between the parking area and the front entrance on performance nights.

How are the seats arranged?

The official seating chart shows the Main Hall sections and entry points. Compare your section and row with that chart before buying. Entries 1, 11 and 12 have stair-free access, and two elevators near the northeast corner of the lobby serve the upper levels. Leave time to reach your section before the house closes its doors.

Which accessibility services are available?

Use Friendship Lane for accessible drop-off at the Main Hall entrance. The lobby Accessibility Station is to the left as you enter. Assistive listening equipment is available for Morrison Center-sponsored Main Hall performances. Bring formal identification for checkout. For sign-language interpretation or requested audio description, contact the box office at least two weeks in advance. Availability depends on the service and performance.

What should I bring?

Have your ticket ready before joining the line. The center can search bags and limits permitted bags to 14 by 14 inches, with listed exceptions. Outside food and drink are restricted. The venue lists concession bars on all three levels and a cash-to-card machine on the first level. Check the event page for age guidance, since everyone entering needs a ticket.

Morrison Center FAQs

Can I arrive after curtain?

Late seating is at the house manager’s discretion. You may be asked to wait for a suitable break or sit at the back until intermission.

How early do Broadway doors open?

The center generally opens the lobby 90 minutes before Broadway in Boise performances. Check your event for its specific instructions and allow additional time to park.

Can I leave and return to my seat mid-show?

Ushers may hold patrons at the doors until a break in the performance. Some programs have no intermission, so plan restroom and concession stops before curtain.

Where can I ask for help after entering?

Speak to an usher or visit the box office. For listening equipment, go to the Accessibility Station near the main entrance before heading to your seat.

Can I bring outside refreshments?

The center restricts outside food and drink. Its own concession items can be taken into the theatre under its published Main Hall policy.
