Boise State University All Campus Band at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

At Of Lightness and Darkness, the Boise State All-Campus Concert Band brings campus and community musicians to the Morrison Center in Boise. Joe Tornello directs the ensemble, and the Summitvue Middle School Symphonic Band under Pat Absalonson shares the program. That makes this a local concert with two distinct groups to hear in one sitting.

Try following how each band shapes a phrase or passes attention between sections. It is an especially good outing with a young musician who is used to hearing their own part from inside a band. Listening from the audience gives them a chance to hear how those individual parts fit together and what a different ensemble brings to the same task.
