Blues Dynasty: Fall Into The Blues

Blues Dynasty: Fall Into The Blues at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

A blues phrase can tell you a lot before it finishes. Listen for the space before the answer and the way a performer can stretch a line without losing its shape. Blues Dynasty brings Fall Into the Blues to the Egyptian Theatre in downtown Boise, giving you a night to spend with the sound and see how it takes shape onstage.

Go with someone who already has favorite blues records and find out what each of you pays attention to. One person might follow how a phrase bends. The other might listen for the rhythm underneath it. Hearing the music together gives you something more specific to talk about afterward than which song you liked best.

Part of the pleasure of hearing blues in a theater is giving a small musical choice your full attention. A phrase can take its time, and a pause can change how you hear what follows. That's a different kind of night out from making dinner reservations and hoping there's somewhere interesting to go afterward. Here the music gives you the plan. The Egyptian is a historic single-screen theater in downtown Boise, so you can build an evening around going there with somebody who likes to settle in and listen. Leave room afterward to talk about what stayed with you.
