Sparta

Sparta at Neurolux Lounge

Sparta brings a three-act rock bill to Neurolux in Boise, with Public Opinion and Mylo Bybee also playing. If Sparta is the name you know, make time for the full lineup and listen for the different ways the bands get a song moving. Coming early lets you find out what pulls you into a set before you have a favorite track in mind.

Cut a Silhouette, Sparta's sixth album, gives you a place to start with the headliner before you go. Put on a track with the friend you are taking and see what sticks for each of you. You can carry that conversation into the show and come away with another band to listen to together.

Try listening for what each band does before a song has settled into its main rhythm. One can draw you in through a part that takes a while to build. Another might get you interested the second the players start. Those choices can tell you something about an act before you know any of the songs. If you go with a Boise friend who already follows one of the openers, let them tell you what to listen for. Then give them the same invitation with Sparta. There is enough room on this bill for both of you to make a discovery.
