The Forgotten Carols

The Forgotten Carols at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

Grab your most thoughtful friend for this one. The Forgotten Carols takes everything you assume about the Nativity and flips it—what if the innkeeper wasn't heartless? What if the shepherd had his own doubts? At Morrison Center for the Performing Arts on November 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM, you'll watch nurse Connie Lou sit beside patient Uncle John as he recounts Christmas through the people history forgot, and her transformation hits differently when you're experiencing it alongside someone who gets it.

FourSquare Productions' stage musical pulls straight from Michael McLean's album, building each scene around characters pushed to the margins of the traditional story. Your friend will lean over during "Homeless" because the weight of that moment—understanding Mary and Joseph's desperation through fresh eyes—lands with unexpected power. These aren't the sanitized figures from childhood pageants.

The music drives Connie Lou's arc from professional distance to genuine connection, and watching that shift happen creates the kind of post-show conversation that lasts the whole drive home. You'll both leave seeing familiar carols through completely different lenses. Bring someone who appreciates stories told slant and check ticket options for the November 23 performance.
