Idaho Steelheads vs. Tulsa Oilers

Idaho Steelheads vs. Tulsa Oilers at Idaho Central Arena

On a rush, the skater without the puck can do a lot with a few feet of space. Watch whether they get wide enough to give the puck carrier a choice or move closer when the lane gets tight. That little bit of movement can force a defender to think about two people at once. Follow the space between the skaters for a change and the pass, if it comes, will make more sense. Idaho Steelheads host Tulsa Oilers at Idaho Central Arena in Boise on December 9.

Hockey is easy to enjoy live because your eye can follow the small stuff. Watch players create space on a rush, see how quickly the puck changes direction, and notice how every shift gives you a new angle on the game.

For fans, the pleasure is just as much about the outing as the action. It is a simple way to share a live sports experience with friends or family, right in the middle of Boise.

Give that movement a look in both directions. The home team can be the one looking for a lane on one shift and the one trying to shut it down on the next. The two jobs look different from the stands even when the rush starts in the same part of the rink.
