Idaho Steelheads vs. Kalamazoo Wings

Idaho Steelheads vs. Kalamazoo Wings at Idaho Central Arena

Look up the ice before a defenseman gets the puck. Teammates can be moving into a place to receive it, and the other team can be trying to take that place away. Once the puck arrives, there may be less than a second to use the lane. Seeing the work before the pass makes the quick decision more interesting. It's a detail worth following when a game has been moving too fast to take in all at once. Idaho Steelheads host Kalamazoo Wings at Idaho Central Arena in Boise on April 2.

Hockey gives you plenty to track without needing a script. You can follow the puck as it moves from the boards into open ice, then notice the difference between a shot threaded through traffic and one with a clear lane to the net.

That makes this a solid outing whether you are planning a regular night out or sharing the building with someone new to the sport. The pace, the contact, and the quick bursts of action make it easy to stay engaged from one end of the rink to the other.

If you want a simple Boise plan with real live energy, this is an easy one to circle.
