A Crazy Little Cafe Called Love

A Crazy Little Cafe Called Love at Boise Little Theater

A single day in the Love Cafe turns into a lively knot of mistaken intentions in A Crazy Little Cafe Called Love at Boise Little Theater in Boise, Idaho, on March 12, 2027. Luigi Jannuzzi's production, directed by Jonathan Perry, keeps the story moving inside one set, where Linda's blind date, Bob's movie casting plans, and a waitress with her eye on a monk all start to collide.

What makes this staging worth seeing is the way the ensemble has to stay perfectly in step as each character chases a separate goal. The comedy comes from crossed signals, overlapping motives, and the quick shifts that happen when wedding relatives enter the mix. It is the kind of play that rewards an audience for catching every small turn.

Because the whole piece is built around one location, every entrance and exit matters. That simple frame lets the pressure build naturally as the cafe becomes the place where private hopes, social obligations, and awkward surprises keep running into each other. The result feels intimate, immediate, and full of momentum.

If you enjoy character-driven theater with sharp timing and a clear sense of place, this is a strong pick for an in-person night out. The production leans into the cast's coordination and the script's comic reversals, giving Boise audiences a compact story with plenty to follow.
