Mrs. Doubtfire - The Musical

Mrs. Doubtfire - The Musical at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

A father who can't let go meets a disguise that won't hold up. Mrs. Doubtfire - The Musical brings the ultimate parental sacrifice to the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts stage on January 28, 2027 at 7:00 PM, where Daniel Hillard's devotion to his kids drives him to become someone else entirely. This isn't just comedy, it's the story of what happens when love collides with a custody agreement, and an out-of-work actor decides his children are worth any humiliation.

The musical doubles down on the central tension the film made famous: how long can one man maintain an elaborate charade when every dinner, every bedtime story, every moment brings him closer to exposure? The stage adaptation lives in that anxiety, building songs and scenes around the exhausting emotional toll of being two people at once. You'll feel every near-miss, every improvised excuse, every heartbreaking reason he keeps the wig on.

What makes this work on stage is the rawness you can't capture on screen, a performer switching between father and nanny while the family he's deceiving sits across the same stage. It's deception born from devotion, played out in real time. See what a parent will become to stay present.
