A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Danny Peterson Theatre at the Morrison Center

Grab a friend and settle in for a ghost story that earns its redemption. Gordon Reinhart's stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic arrives at Danny Peterson Theatre at the Morrison Center for a premiere run presented by Boise State University. Before Scrooge finds his better nature, he's confronted by the consequences of his choices through ghostly visits that force a reckoning. This production puts that tension between supernatural dread and holiday transformation front and center, and you'll want someone next to you when those specters arrive on November 20 at 7:30 PM.

Reinhart's adaptation highlights the psychological torment at the heart of Dickens' narrative. Scrooge doesn't simply wake up cheerful, he's walked through every selfish decision, every cold dismissal, every moment that led him to this haunted Christmas Eve. The ghostly visits make the eventual transformation mean something because you've watched him confront what he's become. The intimate setting at Danny Peterson Theatre at the Morrison Center brings you close to that supernatural reckoning, where the story's power lies in watching a man face the life he's lived.

Whether you're a Dickens devotee or looking for theater that delivers both chills and heart, this premiere production gives you a version of the story that respects both its ghost-tale origins and its holiday promise. Boise State University's staging keeps the focus on the tension between judgment and redemption, the haunting and the hope.
