Idaho Regional Ballet: The Nutcracker

Idaho Regional Ballet: The Nutcracker at Boise State University Special Events Center

Your friend keeps saying they've never seen a ballet, and The Nutcracker is the one to start with. This December 12 matinee at Boise State University Special Events Center is your chance to finally make it happen together, watching Idaho Regional Ballet bring Clara's Christmas Eve adventure to life through pure movement and Tchaikovsky's unforgettable music.

There's something magical about watching a story told entirely through dance, no dialogue, just dancers guiding you from the Stahlbaum family's holiday party through Clara's dream journey to the Land of Sweets. Your friend will recognize the music instantly, and you'll both get caught up in the Snow Scene and the battle with the Mouse King, leaning over to whisper reactions without missing a beat of the performance.

That 2:00 PM showtime is perfect, too. You'll walk out of the Special Events Center with the whole evening ahead, plenty of time to grab dinner, revisit your favorite moments, and maybe start a new December tradition together. Make it a night out with someone ready for their first ballet.

If you're bringing a young viewer, let them choose a moment to tell you about on the way home. The score might be what you remember, while they may have caught something in a dancer's expression.

Plan your theatre outing and find tickets for Idaho Regional Ballet: The Nutcracker.
