Wes Barker

Wes Barker at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

The moment you start trying to figure out a trick is a pretty good time for a magician to make you laugh. Wes Barker works in that overlap between comedy and magic, and he brings his live show to the Egyptian Theatre in Boise. If you know him from Big Trick Energy or Penn & Teller: Fool Us, you already have a reason to see what happens when you're in the room with him.

A magic show gives you a choice. You can spend it trying to track every movement, or you can let the effect catch you as it happens. Either approach can work, and a joke can change which one you're using halfway through a routine. That's a good reason to go with someone who can't resist explaining how things work. You get to find out what they noticed while they were busy looking for an answer.

It's also a night out that works when your group is split between a comedy show and something a little different. You can follow the jokes while somebody else tries to keep their eye on the magic. The fun afterward is seeing whether you both remember the same moment for the same reason. Give yourself a night to be surprised in Boise.
