Collision Of Rhythm

Collision Of Rhythm at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

Listen for the beat and you have a way into every part of Collision of Rhythm. The Family Spotlight Series show brings tap, beatboxing, juggling and live music to Boise’s Morrison Center for the Performing Arts on March 2, 2027, at 6:00 PM. If your group usually splits between a concert and something more visual, this performance gives you both kinds of action to follow.

Tap can give your ears something to follow even while your eyes are busy. Beatboxing offers another way to hear percussion, this time made with a voice. Then there’s juggling, where timing is something you can see in the path of an object. The pleasure is in noticing what changes when you pay attention to a different skill, and how much of the performance depends on when something happens.

It’s a good outing to share with someone who listens differently than you do. A young dancer might have their eye on the footwork. Someone who loves music might pay more attention to how a rhythm is made. Afterward, ask each person what they would go back and watch a second time.

Give the beatboxer your attention for a moment, then see where you hear the rhythm when your eyes go back to the movement.
