The Nutcracker - Symphony Of Lights

The Nutcracker - Symphony Of Lights at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

Your friend already knows every melody from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, now show them how dancers bring those notes to life. Grand Kyiv Ballet arrives at Egyptian Theatre this December with their touring production, telling Clara's magical Christmas Eve adventure entirely through movement. While Ballet Idaho and Idaho Regional Ballet bring their own versions to Boise stages this season, this visiting company offers something different: a chance to see how Ukrainian ballet tradition interprets the world's most recognized holiday score.

The story needs no translation. A mysterious gift. A midnight battle. A kingdom made of sweets. Even if you've never seen ballet before, you'll follow Clara's wide-eyed wonder from her family's parlor to a realm where snowflakes waltz and toy soldiers march. The Egyptian's historic setting adds atmosphere that modern venues can't match, putting you close enough to appreciate how dancers communicate plot without words.

Bring the person who plays Nutcracker music every December. Bring your niece who takes dance class. Bring yourself if you're curious how movement becomes narrative. Grand Kyiv Ballet performs one night only at Egyptian Theatre on December 2, 2026 at 7:00 PM.

For someone new to ballet, Clara gives you a person to follow through a story without spoken explanation. See which moment makes the adventure click for them.
