Dusty Slay

Dusty Slay at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

Selling pesticides doesn't sound like much of a setup until Dusty Slay is the one telling you about it. The Southern stand-up draws on ordinary jobs and the kind of everyday decisions that get funnier the longer you think about them. Hear him at the Egyptian Theatre in Boise if you like a comic who can make a small detail feel like the whole reason a story was worth telling.

Slay's specials include Workin' Man and Wet Heat. If you know those recordings, take a night to listen to how he gives a story room in person. If you don't, you still have a way in. Everybody has worked with someone who made a simple task take twice as long or remembers an outfit that looked better in their own head. A comic who works in that territory gives you plenty to recognize even when the story belongs to him.

This is a show to suggest to the person who makes you laugh hardest when nothing especially interesting is happening. Sit together and see which details remind you of people or jobs you've both known. The appeal is getting out of the house to laugh about the kind of stuff you would probably have been talking about at home anyway.
