Jamie Lissow

Jamie Lissow at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

A line that gets a laugh on a sitcom has a whole scene around it. A stand-up comic has to build the scene with a microphone. Jamie Lissow gets to do that at the Egyptian Theatre in Boise. If you know him from Real Rob, the Netflix series he co-wrote, co-produced and appeared in, this is a chance to see what he can do when it's just his timing you're following.

Listen to how much information he can give you before you realize you're waiting for the joke. A pause can make you reconsider what you thought the story was about. A change of pace can get the laugh before the line is even finished. Those are details you can follow in the room even if you've never seen any of his screen work.

You can also give someone who knows Lissow from television a reason to get out with you. Ask what they remember about his delivery, then see whether that is what you notice when you watch him live. Or go in cold and let him introduce himself from the stage. Either way, you have a night in Boise built around hearing a comic take a premise somewhere you didn't expect.
