The Book Of Mormon

The Book Of Mormon at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

You know that friend who actually gets your sense of humor, the one who doesn't flinch when comedy goes somewhere unexpected? March 31st gives you both a reason to experience why The Book Of Mormon became one of Broadway's most celebrated rule-breakers.

This nine-time Tony-winning musical throws earnest young missionaries into situations their training never covered. The friction between their optimistic worldview and the satirical reality surrounding them in Uganda creates the kind of comedy that lands differently when you're sitting next to someone who appreciates how uncomfortable laughter can feel. The explicit language isn't there for shock value, it's part of how the show examines belief, purpose, and the gap between intention and impact.

Morrison Center hosts this production at 7:00 PM, giving you the full Broadway experience without the New York trip. Bringing someone who enjoys smart, fearless comedy means you'll both catch references the casual viewer might miss, and you'll have plenty to discuss long after the curtain drops. This isn't background entertainment, it's the kind of show that becomes a shared reference point.

Watch for the moment when one character's certainty makes another character's job harder. That tension is part of what gives the satire a story to hang on to.
