The Book Of Mormon
The Book Of Mormon at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts
You've heard people quote it at parties. You've seen the memes. Now experience the musical that made Broadway dangerous again, when two impossibly earnest young missionaries arrive in Uganda with nothing but optimism and a rulebook that doesn't account for reality. The Book of Mormon throws traditional musical theater sweetness into direct collision with no-limits comedy that makes audiences gasp before they roar with laughter. This isn't subtle. It's not polite. And that's exactly why it swept nine Tony Awards and became the show everyone talks about in whisper-then-shout conversations.
What makes this work isn't just the shock value, it's watching genuinely likable characters navigate a world that refuses to cooperate with their sunny worldview. The songs are legitimately catchy. The choreography commits fully. And somewhere between the explicit language and outrageous situations, there's actual heart buried in the chaos. This is the show you bring someone to when you want to share something bold, when you're both ready to laugh at things you probably shouldn't.
The nine-time Tony-winning musical comedy follows two young missionaries sent to Uganda, creating friction between earnest leads and the satirical world around them. It's the experience of sharing an irreverent musical with someone who likes sharp comedy. April 3, 2027, at 7:00 PM at Morrison Center for the Performing Arts.
