A Little Princess

A Little Princess at Boise Little Theater

The gas lamps of Victorian London flicker inside Boise Little Theater this December, casting shadows across a boarding school where one girl's imagination becomes her greatest strength. You'll watch Sara Crewe leave India for a London school, then lose her privileged position after news about her father. What doesn't change? Her refusal to let circumstances crush her spirit.

This isn't a fairy tale where magic solves everything. It's something better, a story about choosing kindness when the world gives you every reason to become bitter. John Vreeke's adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic brings Sara's journey to life on an intimate stage where every seat connects you to her quiet dignity in action. You'll see how imagination, kindness and dignity help her endure hardship, close enough for your kids to understand that real courage doesn't always roar.

After the curtain falls, you'll have something genuine to talk about on the drive home. How do we treat people when their circumstances change? What does it mean to stay true to yourself when everything external gets stripped away? These aren't abstract questions in this production, they're lived experiences unfolding just feet from your seat.

Nikki Wesselman's direction finds the humor and heart in this comedy-drama for all ages without talking down to anyone in the audience. Come for an outing that gives adults and children something meaningful to discuss.
