A Little Princess

A Little Princess at Boise Little Theater

This Boise Little Theater staging gives A Little Princess a fresh spark by leaning into John Vreeke’s adaptation, which keeps Frances Hodgson Burnett’s story vivid and immediate. Directed by Nikki Wesselman, the production follows Sara Crewe as she arrives from India to a London school and suddenly loses the life she expected. See how imagination and dignity become her tools for facing what comes next.

What makes the piece especially rewarding is the way it balances warmth and hardship without losing its heart. As Sara’s world changes, the story invites audiences to notice how kindness can hold steady even when everything else shifts. It is the kind of comedy-drama that gives children and adults plenty to talk about afterward.

The play also offers a strong reason to leave the house for a shared experience that feels meaningful from the first scene to the last. Instead of simply retelling a classic, this adaptation gives the audience a chance to watch resilience take shape in real time. Boise, Boise Little Theater, December 11.

If you want an evening that is thoughtful, moving, and easy to recommend to family or friends, this is a smart pick. A Little Princess brings a beloved story into the room with clarity and purpose.
