A Little Princess

A Little Princess at Boise Little Theater

What happens when a child loses everything but refuses to lose herself? On December 5, 2026, at 7:30 PM, Boise Little Theater presents A Little Princess, John Vreeke's adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's beloved novel. Sara Crewe leaves India for a London school, where her privileged position shatters after devastating news arrives about her father. Directed by Nikki Wesselman, this comedy-drama for all ages follows Sara's journey through hardship, showing how imagination, kindness and dignity help her endure when everything changes.

This production gives families something rare: an outing that offers adults and children something meaningful to discuss long after the curtain falls. Watch how Sara transforms from wealthy student to servant without losing who she is. The comedy-drama balance makes profound themes accessible, never talking down to younger audience members while giving every generation something to admire. You'll find natural openings to talk about what defines us when status disappears, why kindness matters most when it costs us something, and how we choose our response to unfairness.

Director Nikki Wesselman brings Sara's world to intimate life at Boise Little Theater, creating a theatrical experience perfect for introducing young audiences to live performance while engaging those who've loved the story for years. Sara's grace under pressure, powered by creativity and an unshakable sense of self, proves some riches can never be taken away. Bring the family this December for a story that sparks conversation across generations.
