Candlelight: Christmas Carols on Strings

Candlelight: Christmas Carols on Strings at Egyptian Theatre - Boise

Pick a carol you know by heart and try listening for the tune without thinking of the words. At Boise’s Egyptian Theatre on December 19, 2026, Listeso String Quartet gives familiar Christmas carols an instrumental setting by candlelight. The advertised program includes Silent Night, Joy to the World and Carol of the Bells, subject to change.

There’s a pleasure in hearing how much information a familiar melody can carry on its own. You can also listen for what the other parts do around it. If you come with someone who usually notices lyrics first, you may find yourselves talking about entirely different details once the performance is over.

This is a good December outing for someone who wants to spend time with traditional carols. The string quartet gives you a chance to focus on the tunes in a room set aside for listening. If that sounds like an outing you’d like to share, find ticket options for Christmas Carols on Strings.
