Maddie Zahm

Maddie Zahm at Knitting Factory Concert House - Boise

The recorded title track of Everything All The Time builds from piano into acoustic guitar and drums. That change is one way into Maddie Zahm's second album, a twelve-track record about the ongoing work of growing up. The tour brings her to Knitting Factory in Boise, where you can hear the songwriter behind a record that takes its time with that idea.

Zahm drew on the openness she found in Mister Rogers growing up. If that spirit is what makes her songs stick for you, bring someone you would play the album for and see what you both pick up on in the room. Oston opens, giving you another artist to get to know before Zahm's set.

If the album has been keeping you company through a change of your own, this is a chance to give it some attention outside your headphones. A live performance lets you see how a singer can hold a room through a phrase, even when the subject feels personal enough to keep to yourself. You also get to share the outing with someone who might be in a completely different part of their life. Ask what they hear in Zahm's writing and see where your answers meet. That's a better conversation starter than trying to agree on a favorite track beforehand.
