Rare Americans

Rare Americans at Knitting Factory Concert House - Boise

A song can be the door into a whole fictional city. Rare Americans bring the Crooked City tour to Boise with Naethan Apollo. If Brittle Bones Nicky drew you in, the band's animated stories and Crooked City Universe give you more to explore before hearing the group in person.

Even if you came in through the stories, try following the songwriting at the concert. Notice how the delivery tells you something about a character, or how a change of rhythm changes a scene in your head. Naethan Apollo gives you a second artist to get to know on the same outing.

The Boise show is at Knitting Factory.

Going in with a little knowledge of that world can make the music more interesting, but you can also bring somebody who's never seen the animation. Tell them which character or song pulled you in and let them start wherever they want. The concert is a chance to see what the band communicates through its delivery alone. A fan who knows the backstory and a newcomer can listen to the same song and notice different things. That gives you something to talk about on the way out, especially if one of you ended up more curious about the other act.
