Boise State University Symphonic Winds at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

Bring a friend who appreciates precise musicianship and claim your seats for an afternoon that rewards close listening. When Boise State Symphonic Winds takes the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts stage on April 18, 2027, at 3:30 PM, you'll hear why this student wind ensemble earned an invitation to perform at the 2026 College Band Directors National Association conference. There's something compelling about watching student musicians operate at this level—the focus, the discipline, the moments when individual sections lock into perfect alignment.

You and your companion will follow the conversation as French horns answer clarinets, as the percussion section punctuates a dramatic phrase, as a solo trumpet line soars above the ensemble. Dr. Myron Peterson leads woodwinds, brass and percussion through programming that bridges generations, moving between cornerstone repertoire and contemporary works that expand what a wind ensemble can express. The Morrison Center's acoustics let you track each instrumental voice as it weaves through the texture—now the oboe carries the melody, now the euphoniums anchor the harmony, now the entire brass section rises in brilliant declaration.

This is the kind of afternoon that sparks conversations all the way to dinner. Pick someone who'll compare favorite moments with you afterward, then secure your tickets to Boise State Symphonic Winds.
