Boise State University Symphony Orchestra at Morrison Center For The Performing Arts

Try following the low strings instead of the melody the next time you hear an orchestra. Boise State's Symphony Orchestra gives you a chance to do that at the Morrison Center in Boise. The Feb. 17 concert from the Boise State Department of Music puts the full ensemble in focus, giving listeners a clear reason to experience the scale and coordination of a campus orchestra on a major stage.

One reason to attend is the ensemble itself. Hearing a university symphony as a complete group offers a different perspective than following sections individually, and this concert highlights that collective sound in a live setting. For Boise listeners who appreciate orchestral performance, the Morrison Center is a fitting place to take it in.

Another reason is the setting. The Morrison Center gives this Boise State Symphony Orchestra appearance a formal concert-home atmosphere that suits a department presentation. It is a straightforward opportunity to support Boise State music students and musicians while enjoying an evening built around orchestral performance in one of Boise’s signature venues.

If somebody in your family plays an instrument, ask them which section they want to follow. Share what you each noticed after the concert. You may have heard two very different versions of the same evening.
