Eivor

Eivor at Treefort Music Hall

Start with the voice. Faroese singer Eivor brings her full band to Treefort Music Hall in Boise, giving you the chance to hear how her singing sits against a whole ensemble. If you already know her recorded work, try listening to what the band does when her voice draws your attention and what you notice when you shift your focus to the players.

Midori jaeger opens, so the first voice you hear may be one you are discovering for the first time. Bring the friend who sends you songs outside your usual listening habits. You can compare what drew you to each artist, and the opener is a reason to make time for the whole concert.

Try listening for the point where Eivor's delivery changes how you hear the music around it. A voice can pull your attention to a quiet detail or make the sound behind it feel suddenly larger. With the full band there, you can watch what the other players are doing while your ear stays with her. If you haven't heard her before, that's a good reason to go in curious. You get to discover the singer and the sound of the group in the same room, with a whole set to settle into how they work together.
